McClure John Hammill, Jr. <br />1. Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order calling on Hugh Price for <br />prayer. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the March <br />minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />Chairman Patterson announced that he signed the gratutious agreement <br />providing space for the Soil and Water District, Cabarrus County <br />Watershed Co fission and the Soil Conservation Service. <br />mm <br />4. Wesley Grant gave the Treasurer's report: <br />4-11-78 NET CASH IN BANK $2825.28 <br />5. The District Conservationist, Hugh Price, gave the following reports: <br />a. The District, Vlatershed Commissioners and the Soil Conservation Service <br />moved into new space on April 11, 1978 at 19 Church Street. All <br />agricultural agencies are now in the same building. <br />b. The telephone number at the office has been changed to: 788-2105. <br />C. As of March 26, 1978, the Soil Conservation Service changed their <br />boundaries adding Area VIII, a new area of which Cabarrus County <br />is a part. <br />d. During March, Frank Hodges, Technician was working in Union County. <br />Henry 1-1untt, 111, Soil Scientist resigned from SCS and Willard <br />Ramsey, Soil Scientist had surgery at Mercy Hospital on April 4, 1978. <br />Mr. Ramsey is expected to be absent approximately ten weeks. <br />e. Gary Babb worked one week during Spring break from UNC. He and <br />Mr. Price spent the week and most of March, Mr. Price was completing <br />10 tracts for erosion control studies. 3 conservation plans were <br />completed and 14 evaluations and inventories were given. Units of <br />government requested.information concerning building sites and soils <br />information. <br />
