MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />- SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 223 <br />DATE: June 10, 1980 Agriculture Center 8:30 P.M. - 10:00 P.M• <br />3 Chairman Patterson welcomed our guests. <br />4• Treasurer's report: <br />May 13, 1980 CASH IN BANK $2626.90 <br />June- Jeffery Howell-Resource Workshop 100.00 <br />June- Bill Hull-District Work 14.96 <br />June 10, 1•80 CASH IN BANK $ 2511.94 <br />• = <br />FINANCE: (Nash) <br />Harold Nash reported, item by item, of money spent • the District <br />during the 1979-1980 fiscal year. <br />EDUCATION: (Hogan) <br />a Jeff Howell is planning to attend the Conservation Resource <br />Workshop June 16 -20th Jeff is the representative from the <br />Cabarrus District. <br />b. The Wildlife award entry form has been completed for John <br />Hammill, Sr. The Cabarrus District recommendation was mailed <br />• the Area Chairman, May 27, 1980. <br />C. Plans are in progress for the Cabarrus County Agricultural <br />Fair exhibit and the conservation tours sponsored by the <br />District. <br />LAND-USE: (Herrin) <br />Frank Herrin reported that Land use is becoming a critical problem. <br />More farmland is being replaced with urban and commercial building. <br />Prices of food are continually increasing and the outlook seems • <br />be that food could get to be in short supply as more agricultural <br />land is going to other land use. <br />
