MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEET ING <br />MEETING NO: 236 <br />DATE: July 14, 1981 <br />Agriculture Center 8:00 -9:45 P.M. <br />PRESENT: J. Lewis Patterson, Frank Herrin, C. Lipe Barrier, Dr. Marvin P. Rozear <br />Paul Bowles <br />ABSENT: Whitaker Moose, Eddie Moose <br />WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, John A. Hammill, Jr. <br />OFFICE: Hugh D. Price, Eyvonne S. McDaniel <br />1. Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the Invocation. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and passed approving the June minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />The District Plan of Operations for 1981 -82 was distributed to the supervisors <br />present. The Plan of Operations lists the Chairman of each committee and his <br />responsibility to carry out the program. <br />4. Treasurer's report: (Dr. Rozear) <br />June 30, 1981 <br />NET CASH IN BANK <br />$2586.85 <br />a. A financial report for the District for the past year was distributed to <br />those present. <br />b. A motion was made, seconded and passed to pay Dr. Rozear $23.00 (115 miles @ 20�) <br />toward expenses for gas to Dutchman Creek watershed tour of structure 17. <br />Check for $23.00 was issued to Dr. Rozear at this meeting. <br />Education: (Frank Herrin) <br />a. Frank Herrin suggested that a workshop be held to discuss ideas for the <br />District Fair exhibit. Several people with input and ideas would be <br />invited. He suggested the workshop be a dinner meeting. Space has been provided. <br />A motion was made, seconded and passed that the District pay for the meals <br />of those attending the workshop. Time and place will be announced later. <br />b. Frank Herrin announced that the nominee for Conservation Farm Family of the <br />Year for 1981 was due to the Area Chairman August 1, 1981 He asked for <br />recommendations. After discussion, a motion was made, seconded and passed <br />that the C. Lipe Barrier, Sr., family be nominated for this award. <br />A motion was made, seconded and passed that Hugh Price and Bill Hull with <br />the assistance of Paul Bowles obtain the information needed to complete the <br />score card on the Conservation Farm Family of the Year. <br />c. A letter was sent to Frank Herrin, Publicity Chairman, from Ronald B. Stephens <br />explaining the "Final Acre Ceremony ". <br />
