MINUTES CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS MEETING MEETING NO: 248 DATE: July 13, 1982 Agriculture Center 8:00 P.M. -10:30 P.M. SUPERVISORS: J. Lewis Patterson, Frank Herrin, Jr., C. Lipe Barrier, Sr, W. Whitaker Moose Paul Bowles, Eddie Moose WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, C. William Cook, GUESTS: Fred Pilkenton, Eric Barrett, Ellen Herlant, Emanuel Kiser, Bill Powlas. OFFICE: Hugh D. Price, Eyvonne S. McDaniel ABSENT: Dr. Marvin P. Rozear, John A. Hammill, Jr. 1. Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the Invocation. Prior to the business meeting, Miss Ellen Herlant gave a 4 -H demonstration on making casts of foot prints of the Raccoon and related the story of the Raccoons habitat. Eric T. Barrett gave an excellent report on his activities at the Conservation Resource Workshop held in June at N. C. State University. Mr. Fred Pilkenton, Director of the Health Department, gave a slide presentation (with maps) of the Water -Sewer Bond Referendum. Voting date -July 27, 1982. The proposed water -sewer plan for Cabarrus County was discussed at length by those present. Emanuel Kiser and Bill Powlas were present with their comments on the Bond Referendum. 2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the June minutes. 3. Chairman's report: a. Expense vouchers for this meeting were signed by the supervisors. b. The State Association of Soil and Water Districts Annual meeting: January 9 -12, 1983 at Wilmington Hilton, Wilmington, N.C.; 4. Treasurer's report: July 13, 1982 NET CASH IN BANK $859.75 5. Committee reports: FINANCE: (Rozear) A report was made for Dr. Rozear that the Cabarrus County Commissioners approved $13,110.00 for 1982 -83 budget for the Cabarrus District. Included in this appropriation are funds for part -time employment for a technician in the District.
