MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 248 <br />DATE: July 13, 1982 Agriculture Center 8:00 P.M. -10:30 P.M. <br />SUPERVISORS: J. Lewis Patterson, Frank Herrin, Jr., C. Lipe Barrier, Sr, <br />W. Whitaker Moose Paul Bowles, Eddie Moose <br />WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, C. William Cook, <br />GUESTS: Fred Pilkenton, Eric Barrett, Ellen Herlant, Emanuel Kiser, <br />Bill Powlas. <br />OFFICE: Hugh D. Price, Eyvonne S. McDaniel <br />ABSENT: Dr. Marvin P. Rozear, John A. Hammill, Jr. <br />1. Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the <br />Invocation. <br />Prior to the business meeting, Miss Ellen Herlant gave a 4 -H <br />demonstration on making casts of foot prints of the Raccoon and <br />related the story of the Raccoons habitat. <br />Eric T. Barrett gave an excellent report on his activities at the <br />Conservation Resource Workshop held in June at N. C. State University. <br />Mr. Fred Pilkenton, Director of the Health Department, gave a slide <br />presentation (with maps) of the Water -Sewer Bond Referendum. Voting <br />date -July 27, 1982. <br />The proposed water -sewer plan for Cabarrus County was discussed at <br />length by those present. Emanuel Kiser and Bill Powlas were present <br />with their comments on the Bond Referendum. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the <br />June minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. Expense vouchers for this meeting were signed by the supervisors. <br />b. The State Association of Soil and Water Districts Annual <br />meeting: January 9 -12, 1983 at Wilmington Hilton, Wilmington, N.C.; <br />4. Treasurer's report: <br />July 13, 1982 NET CASH IN BANK $859.75 <br />5. Committee reports: <br />FINANCE: (Rozear) <br />A report was made for Dr. Rozear that the Cabarrus County Commissioners <br />approved $13,110.00 for 1982 -83 budget for the Cabarrus District. <br />Included in this appropriation are funds for part -time employment <br />for a technician in the District. <br />
