Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order. Welcomed to the meeting were <br />County Commissioners Harold L. Nash and Kenneth Payne. <br />2. A motion was made and passed approving the July minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. Expense vouchers for supervisors were signed at this meeting. <br />b. The State Association of Soil and Water Districts annual meeting: <br />January 9 -12, 1983 at Wilmington Hilton, Wilmington, N. C. <br />c. Questionnaires on scheduling a Supervisors Workshop were completed at <br />this meeting and will be mailed to NRCD -Soil and Water Division for <br />review. <br />4. Treasurer's report: <br />NET CASH IN BANK <br />5. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />FINANCE: (Dr. Rozear) <br />August 10, 1982 <br />No disbursements since July meeting. <br />EDUCATION: (Frank Herrin) <br />$863.71 <br />a. Mr. Herrin reported that funds have been appropriated to the District <br />for a part -time technician. <br />Bill Hull has returned to work for the District and will be in charge <br />of the educational projects the District sponsors. He will also be <br />corking on other activities concerning conservation work. <br />b. Bill Hull gave a report on plans for the Cabarrus District Fair Exhibit <br />(September 13 -18, 1982). <br />Bill also reported on progress made in planning the conservation tours <br />for eighth grade students. The tours are scheduled for September 27 <br />through October 1, 1982. <br />c. Frank Herrin reported that 1000 Litterbags are to be ordered for the <br />students on the conservation tours. <br />187 <br />Also to be ordered, are 48 -1983 pocket calendars to be given to instructors <br />and teachers who participate on the week of the tours. <br />
