MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 263 <br />DATE: October 11, 1983 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. - 9:15 F.K. <br />SUPERVISORS: Frank Herrin, Lipe Barrier, Sr., John Hammill, Jr. <br />Paul Bowles, Eddie Moose <br />WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, Jerry Hamill, Michael Harkey <br />O'T'HER: J. Harold Nash, Archie Barnhardt, Bill Babb, Hugh Price, Eyvonne S. McDaniel <br />1. Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the Invocation. <br />2. Minutes of the September meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />1) Area VIII Fall Meeting - Agriculture Center- Statesville, N. C.- October 12, 1983 <br />Registration at 4:00 p.m. Meal $8.00. <br />2) The District Annual report was distributed to those present. <br />3) The District 1983 -1984 Plan of Operations will be distributed at the November <br />meeting. <br />4) Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. <br />4. Treasurer's report: Sept. 1, 1983 <br />Sept. 26, 1983 Matching funds <br />Sept. 30, 1983 Interest <br />Oct. 1, 1983 NET CASH IN BANK <br />5. Committee reports: <br />660.46 <br />2005.05 <br />4.44 <br />2669.95 <br />FINANCE: <br />A motion was made and passed authorizing the Treasurer to issue <br />checks to: Dr. Marvin P. Rozear ($32.50- 130 miles driven to <br />and from watershed tour) Kale- Lawing Co.($10.84) fair exhibit' <br />material and Eyvonne McDaniel ($180.00 for bus drivers on conservation <br />tours. <br />We • <br />1) Hugh Price reported on the success of the 7 day conservation <br />tours. Approximately 1200 attended; eighth grade students, <br />teachers and those on the program. (Sept. 27 -30 and October 3,6 and 7) <br />2) The Annual speech contest is scheduled to be held at the December <br />meeting. <br />LAND -USE: list <br />Mr. Price reported receiving a - \,/ of soils that are locally <br />important. <br />
