� MINUTES t- CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS MEETING MEETING NO: 264 DATE: November 8, 1983 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. - 9:30 P.M. SUPERVISORS: A. Frank Herrin, Lipe Barrier, Whitaker Moose, Dr. Marvin Rozear Paul Bowles WATERSHED: Carl O. Overcash GUESTS: Bill Morgan, Robert Ward, Mike Mills, Archie Barnhardt OTHER: Hugh D. Price, Peggy B. Jackson, Eyvonne McDaniel 1. Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Whitaker Moose gave the Invocation. 2. Minutes of the October meeting were unanimously approved. 3. Mike Mills, representing the Sierra Club, reported that members of the Club will begin Saturday to clear debris along a section of Rocky River. A brochure on stream watch was presented. Mike reported several points of serious erosion on Rocky River. 4. Bill Morgan, N. C. Forest Service Technician and a member of the Regional Task Group requested assistance from the Cabarrus Soil and Water District to sponsor a joint project with other Agricultural agencies to promote public awareness of conservation and forestry practices. Bill asked that the District assist in providing funds to purchase a "set of signs" to be displayed where good conservation practices are being applied. A motion was made and unanimously passed that the District purchase a set of signs for $50.00. 5. Chairman's report: (a) Mr. Herrin reported on the Area VIII District meeting held in Statesville on October 12, 1983. He and Mr. Hugh Price attended the meeting. (b) Copies of the District Plan of Operations was distributed to the supervisors. (c) Expense vouchers for this meeting were signed by the supervisors. 6. COMMITTEE REPORTS: FINANCE: November 1, 1983 NET CASH IN BANK $2458.03 (a) A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed authorizing the Treasurer to pay: Sun -Drop Bottling ($296.92) Area VIII District dues ($30.00) and Speech contest prize money ($75.00).
