� <br />MINUTES t- <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 264 <br />DATE: November 8, 1983 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. - 9:30 P.M. <br />SUPERVISORS: A. Frank Herrin, Lipe Barrier, Whitaker Moose, Dr. Marvin <br />Rozear Paul Bowles <br />WATERSHED: Carl O. Overcash <br />GUESTS: Bill Morgan, Robert Ward, Mike Mills, Archie Barnhardt <br />OTHER: Hugh D. Price, Peggy B. Jackson, Eyvonne McDaniel <br />1. Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Whitaker Moose gave the <br />Invocation. <br />2. Minutes of the October meeting were unanimously approved. <br />3. Mike Mills, representing the Sierra Club, reported that members of <br />the Club will begin Saturday to clear debris along a section of Rocky <br />River. A brochure on stream watch was presented. Mike reported <br />several points of serious erosion on Rocky River. <br />4. Bill Morgan, N. C. Forest Service Technician and a member of the <br />Regional Task Group requested assistance from the Cabarrus Soil and <br />Water District to sponsor a joint project with other Agricultural <br />agencies to promote public awareness of conservation and forestry <br />practices. Bill asked that the District assist in providing funds <br />to purchase a "set of signs" to be displayed where good conservation <br />practices are being applied. <br />A motion was made and unanimously passed that the District purchase <br />a set of signs for $50.00. <br />5. Chairman's report: <br />(a) Mr. Herrin reported on the Area VIII District meeting held in <br />Statesville on October 12, 1983. He and Mr. Hugh Price attended <br />the meeting. <br />(b) Copies of the District Plan of Operations was distributed to <br />the supervisors. <br />(c) Expense vouchers for this meeting were signed by the supervisors. <br />6. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />FINANCE: November 1, 1983 NET CASH IN BANK $2458.03 <br />(a) A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed authorizing <br />the Treasurer to pay: Sun -Drop Bottling ($296.92) Area VIII <br />District dues ($30.00) and Speech contest prize money ($75.00). <br />
