MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />Supervisors Meeting <br />MEETING NO: 269 <br />DATE: April 4, 1984 Troutman's Bar -B -Q 7:30 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. <br />SUPERVISORS: Whitaker Moose, Frank Herrin, John A. Hammill, C. Lipe <br />Barrier, Sr. Paul Bowles <br />WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, Mike Harkey, Jerry F. Hammill <br />OTHER: Hugh D. Price, Bill Hull, Peggy Jackson, Eyvonne McDaniel <br />VISITORS: Archie Barnhardt, Coy A. Garrett -State Conservationist, <br />Thomas Wetmore, Area Conservationist, Garland Strickland, Pres. <br />N. C. Association Soil and Water Districts. <br />1. Chairman Moose called the meeting to order. He introduced our <br />visitors: Archie Barnhardt, Coy A. Garrett, Thomas Wetmore and <br />Garland Strickland. Hugh Price gave the Invocation. <br />2. The March minutes were unanimously approved. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. John D. Sutherland of NRCD -Water Planning Section has <br />tenatively scheduled a time in April to be in Cabarrus County <br />concerning the resolution ad.ppted by the District to support <br />work on the aquatic weed problem at Frank Liske Park. <br />b. A letter from the N. C. Wildlife Federation requested a <br />contribution for efforts to expand an educational program <br />on Acid Rain and disposal of Toxic Waste. <br />A motion was made, seconded and passed that a contribution <br />of $10.00 be made to N. C. Wildlife for their efforts. <br />c. Expense vouchers for this meeting were signed by those <br />supervisors present. <br />4. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />FINANCE: <br />a. April 4, 1984 NET CASH IN BANK <br />$1037.43 <br />b. Dr. Rozear, Treasurer was absent. Chairman Moose reviewed <br />the proposed 1984 -1985 Soil and Water District budget. <br />A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving <br />the proposed 1984 -1985 budget. <br />Dr. Rozear and Hugh Price are scheduled to meet with the <br />County Manager, Charles McGinnes, to discuss the budget and <br />request funds to purchase a computer. <br />EDUCATION: <br />a. Frank Herrin reported on the Area VIII Speech contest held <br />in Monroe on March 15th. Jay Juhl, his parents and teacher <br />accompanied him to the contest. <br />
