CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DIS'T'RICT <br />SUPERVISORS MELT ING <br />MEETING NO: 278 <br />DATE: January 10, 1985 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. <br />SUPERVISORS: Whitaker Moose, C.,T;ipe Barrier, Frank Herrin, John Hamnill, <br />Jinury Little <br />WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, Jerry Hamroill, Nuke Harkey <br />OTHER: Archie Barnhardt, Hugh D. Price, Eyvonne McDaniel <br />1. Chairman Moose called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the Invocation. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the December minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. <br />FINANCE: <br />a. National Soil and Water District dues of $375.00 were paid January 9, 1985. <br />b. January 10, 1985 NET CASH IN BANK $962.50 <br />c. A refund check for $56.00 from the N. C. Forest Service will be deposited <br />in the Cabarrus District account. <br />WD •; •► <br />a. The tree seedlings purchased for sale were delivered today. After discussion, <br />the seedlings are scheduled to be sold to the public on January 19th from <br />10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M., here at the Agriculture Center. The sale is being <br />advertised in the Concord Tribune and Daily Independent. <br />b. The,Lbnd Judging contest is scheduled to be held in Cabarrus county on <br />March 26, 1985 at approximately 2 :00 P.M. Rowan county contestants will <br />be competing in the contest. The location will be announced at a later <br />date. <br />M . 1 1,ki <br />O UR 9 01 • **IV DO <br />a. The District Supervisors, Commissioner Archie Barnhardt and the Cabarrus <br />County Watershed Commissioners discussed stream clearing in the county. <br />b. Hugh Price reported that he and Bill Hull are planning, next week, to <br />observe the blockage on streams and try to place a priority on the areas <br />where clearing debris needs to be done. <br />c. After discussion, a motion was made that the debris cleared from a section <br />of Back Creek be (1) inspected to determine the effectiveness of the work' <br />done and (2) that a bill be presented by Mr. Ray Flowers and (3) that Mr. <br />Flowers be reembursed from stream improvement funds not to exceed $800.00. <br />The motion was seconded and unanimously passed. Lipe Barrier has agreed <br />to inspect the work done on Back Creek. <br />
