MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 279 <br />DATE: February 12, 1985 <br />SUPERVISORS: Frank Herrin, John Hammill, Jimmy Little, C. Lipe Barrier <br />OTHER: Archie Barnhardt, Hugh D. Price, Billy W. Hull <br />1. Vice Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the <br />Invocation. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the January <br />minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. Supervisors agreed to sign a certificate accepting 202 cents per mile <br />for travel instead of 25� per mile. <br />b. Supervisors Hamill, Barrier and Little signed the certificate <br />concerning reimbursement for travel. Supervisors Herrin and Moose <br />indicated they had already sent theirs in. <br />c. Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting <br />d. Vice Chairman Herrin displayed a certificate and read a letter from <br />National Association of Conservation Districts thanking the district <br />for 100% support to the association. <br />e. Area 8 spring meeting will be held March 6, 1985 in Davidson County. <br />Specific place and other details will be sent later. <br />4. COMMI REPORTS: <br />FINANCE: <br />a. Checks to Concord Tribune (46.00), and Daily Independent (23.00) for <br />Ads about tree seedling sale. <br />b. Balance-- - - - - -- $954.80 <br />5. EDUCATION: <br />a. Details for Land Judging Contest will be ready at March meting. <br />b. A letter was presented from David C. Holland, Jr., President NC <br />Association Soil and Water Conservation Districts asking super- <br />visors to contact Representatives and Senators for support to <br />keep the Soil Conservation Service in business with full financing. <br />c. Ghe Goddyear awards were discussed but no action was taken. <br />d. Supervisors Herrin, Barrier, Little and Moose voted to receive <br />$50.00 from Southern Living Show rather than receive 2 tickets <br />to a pre - showing before the Show is open to the public. Super- <br />visor Hamill was not contacted since majority had already voted <br />to accept the money. <br />
