MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 308 <br />DATE: July 14, 1987 Agriculture Center 8:00 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. <br />SUPERVISORS: Frank Herrin, Jinuy Little, Claude Kuykendall, Whitaker Moose, <br />Lipe Barrier <br />OFFICE: Hugh D. Price, E. E. Bishop, Eyvonne McDaniel <br />1. Chairman Herrin opened the supervisors meeting with prayer. <br />2. The JUNE minutes were unanimously approved. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. The Brown Creek Soil and Water Districts 50th year celebration will <br />be held August 1, 1987 at the Anson Jr. High school in Wadesboro <br />from 9:00 -5:00 p.m. <br />News releases and radio announcements are to be sent to our local <br />medias announcing the event. <br />b. Plans were briefly discussed in planning the AREA VIII FALL MEETING - <br />October 14, 1987. More information of time, registration cost and <br />plan will be available as plans are finalized. <br />c. The District supervisors District and 'SC-q Der s ael-' , doaated $25.00 to <br />be sent to Bethpage Presbyterian Church in memory of Marvin J. Smith, <br />former Soil and Water supervisor. <br />Tommy Smith, Cabarrus County Watershed Commissioner was Marvin's son. <br />A sympathy card to Tommy was signed by all those present. <br />a. July 14, 1987 NET CASH IN BANK 401.47 <br />b. An audit of expenses from July 1, 1986 to July 1, 1987 was prepared <br />and given to the supervisors to review. <br />c. The Cabarrus County Commissioners approved for the Cabarrus Soil <br />and Water District appropriations of $22,834.00 for fiscal year <br />1987 -1988. <br />r010rr:y"•RLIA <br />a. E. E. Bishop reported on the following items: <br />(1) An exhibit from Cabarrus county is to be taken to Anson County <br />to place with other exhibits during the Brown Creek celebration. <br />(2) Bishop explained thoroughly the educational programs he has <br />discussed with the county school administrators; speech contest, <br />posters, essays and ideas for the conservation tours. He has <br />met several times with them and has met with a steering committee <br />
