MINUTES CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT Supervisors Meeting MEETING NO: 337 DATE: January 9, 1990 Agriculture Center 7:40 P.M. -10:00 P.M. SUPERVISORS: Frank Herrin, Sue Casper, Lipe Barrier, Whitaker Moose ASSOCIATE: Paul Bowles OFFICE: Hugh D. Price, Eyvonne S. McDaniel 1, Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the Invocation. 2. Sue Casper reported on the improvement of her husband who had a heart attack last week. Her father has not shown much improvement in his illness. Sue was not able to attend the State Association meeting, 3. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the DECEMBER minutes. 4. The report of the District Conservationist, Hugh D. Price is attached to these minutes. 5. Chairman's report: - -, a. Chairman Herrin made a full report on the activities at the j State Association meeting in Greensboro on January 4 -7, 1990. Attending with Chairman Herrin was Eyvonne S. McDaniel and - Linda Vernon. b. No action has been taken to check on upgrading the salary range to expedite hiring a District Technician. C. Copies of the action taken on Program Objectives for the Soil and Water Districts for 1990 were available for review. d. Chairman Herrin announced purchasing a picture of Hugh Hammond Bennett. The picture is to be hung in the District office. A suggestion was made at the Annual meeting that each District purchase a picture for their office. 6. Committee reports: FINANCE January 9, 1990 FSA $2,021.98 District 2,761.65 $4 ,783.63 Sue Casper reported that the Invoice for the Cabarrus District National dues of $550.00 has been sent to the Cabarrus County Finance officer for payment. EDUCATION: Hugh Price reported on a tentative date for the District's Speech contest and presentation of award to the FARM FAMILY OF i _� THE YEAR -1989.
