MINUTES CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT Supervisors Meeting MEETING NO: 346 DATE: November 13, 1990 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. -9:00 P.M. SUPERVISORS: Frank Herrin, Sue Casper, Claude Kuykendall, Lipe Barrier, Sr. VISITORS: Myra Morrison, Johnny Foil OFFICE: Eyvonne McDaniel, Frankie Singleton, Dennis Testerman 1. Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Dennis Testerman gave the Invocation. Chairman Herrin welcomed Myra Morrison who was elected for a term as District Supervisor and Johnny Foil who was recommended to the Soil and Water Division to serve as a supervisor for the District. 2. No meeting was held in October -Frank Herrin, Sue Casper and the office personnel attended the AREA 8 meeting in Charlotte. 3. Dennis Testerman distributed and explained a memorandum to the District supervisors of the Ag. Cost -Share status in each of the supervisors township. The memo. showed the number of applicants in the cost -share program in each township. Dennis pointed out a map of the county showing where most of the applicants had signed up for cost -share programs. 4. Chairman's report: a. Chairman Herrin reported that Hugh Price was at home sick and was unable to attend the meeting. b. Results of the election for District supervisor were: Frank Herrin - 16,387 Myra Morrison - 15,360 c. The form recommending,from the District supervisors, that Johnny Foil be appointed as a new supervisor was sent to the Soil and Water Division on October 11, 1990. d. A letter from Charles Bullock recommended that supervisors budget money for the training needs and attendance to workshops of district personnel. The training sessions and workshops are essential to a district board for employees to be informed and do their best work for the district. e. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that Dennis Testerman be allowed to attend the part of the National Association of SWCD he wishes to attend. The meeting is scheduled for February 3 -7, 1991. 5. COMMITTEE REPORTS: FINANCE: Sue Casper reported that all bills for the District are being sent to the Finance officer at the Courthouse for payment. EDUCATION: Chairman Herrin requested that Hugh Price, Dennis and Frankie work with Roger Smith and the teachers to plan the 8th grade conservation tours at a time that is agreeable to all participating.
