MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />Supervisors Meeting <br />MEETING NO: 346 <br />DATE: November 13, 1990 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. -9:00 P.M. <br />SUPERVISORS: Frank Herrin, Sue Casper, Claude Kuykendall, Lipe Barrier, Sr. <br />VISITORS: Myra Morrison, Johnny Foil <br />OFFICE: Eyvonne McDaniel, Frankie Singleton, Dennis Testerman <br />1. Chairman Herrin called the meeting to order. Dennis Testerman gave <br />the Invocation. <br />Chairman Herrin welcomed Myra Morrison who was elected for a term <br />as District Supervisor and Johnny Foil who was recommended to the <br />Soil and Water Division to serve as a supervisor for the District. <br />2. No meeting was held in October -Frank Herrin, Sue Casper and the <br />office personnel attended the AREA 8 meeting in Charlotte. <br />3. Dennis Testerman distributed and explained a memorandum to the <br />District supervisors of the Ag. Cost -Share status in each of the <br />supervisors township. The memo. showed the number of applicants <br />in the cost -share program in each township. Dennis pointed out a <br />map of the county showing where most of the applicants had signed <br />up for cost -share programs. <br />4. Chairman's report: <br />a. Chairman Herrin reported that Hugh Price was at home sick <br />and was unable to attend the meeting. <br />b. Results of the election for District supervisor were: <br />Frank Herrin - 16,387 Myra Morrison - 15,360 <br />c. The form recommending,from the District supervisors, that <br />Johnny Foil be appointed as a new supervisor was sent to the <br />Soil and Water Division on October 11, 1990. <br />d. A letter from Charles Bullock recommended that supervisors <br />budget money for the training needs and attendance to workshops <br />of district personnel. The training sessions and workshops are <br />essential to a district board for employees to be informed and <br />do their best work for the district. <br />e. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that Dennis <br />Testerman be allowed to attend the part of the National Association <br />of SWCD he wishes to attend. The meeting is scheduled for <br />February 3 -7, 1991. <br />5. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />FINANCE: Sue Casper reported that all bills for the District are <br />being sent to the Finance officer at the Courthouse for <br />payment. <br />EDUCATION: Chairman Herrin requested that Hugh Price, Dennis and <br />Frankie work with Roger Smith and the teachers to plan <br />the 8th grade conservation tours at a time that is agreeable <br />to all participating. <br />(continued) <br />
