Frank Herrin, Chairman, called the meeting to order. <br />2. The minutes from the October 11, 1995 Board meeting were reviewed <br />MOTION: THAT THE MINUTES FROM THE OCTOBER 11, 1995 BOARD MEETING BE <br />APPROVED. M/MORRISON, S /HARKEY, C. <br />3. NRCS /FSA REPORT - Matt Kinane, DC <br />3.1 FAC Report - CFSA, RECD and NRCS met in October. The <br />Cabarrus CFSA Farm Committee and the Mecklenburg CFSA Farm <br />Committee will be merged into one county committee in January <br />1996. <br />3.2 Technical assistance given: <br />- 7 farms /businesses were contacted during the month_. <br />41 walk -ins were assisted <br />3.3 A plan for Tract No. 1338 owned by Frank Hammill and operated <br />by Frederick Motley was presented to the Board for approval. <br />MOTION: THAT THE ABOVE CITED PLAN BE APPROVED. M) MORRISON, S) <br />HARKEY, C. <br />3.4 Pond design for Donald Hill has been submitted to area <br />engineer. <br />3.5 Matt also mentioned the Association's annual meeting in <br />January and asked if any board member would be attending. No <br />one was sure at this time if he /she could attend any portion <br />of the meeting. <br />4. INFORMATION /EDUCATION - Dennis Testerman <br />4.1 The annual speech <br />contest will be held December 5, 1995 in the Learning Center. <br />4.2 Thirty students attended the annual essay and speech clinic <br />held on October 23. <br />4.3 Planning is underway for the Teacher Recertification Workshop <br />(Project Wild /Project-Aquatic) <br />4.4 Project Wet was explained and Dennis discussed some of the <br />items in the handbook. Dennis participated in the inaugural <br />facilitator training held November 1 -2. <br />
