Hudson (M), Studdert (S), (C). <br />N RCS Report (12 -01 -98 - 02- 26 -99) <br />3.1 FOOD SECURITY ACT (FSA) Plans to Approve: <br />OPERATOR OWNER TRACT ACRES <br />No new plans developed or revisions made. <br />3.2 CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM (CRP) - The CRP (Continuous) Sign -up #19 is open <br />from October 01, 1998 - September 30, 1999. Eligible practices include but not limited to <br />Riparian Buffers, Grassed Waterways, Field Borders, etc. As of November 30, no <br />applications have received by the field office. <br />3.3 WILDLIFE HABITAT INCENTIVES PROGRAM (WHIP): (Continuous Sign -up) - WHIP <br />applications are now being accepted for FY99. All applications received by April 02, 1999 <br />will be evaluated and ranked for the 1 st funding period of FY99. A second funding period <br />may be offer later in the fiscal year. As of February 26, two applications for Cabarrus <br />County have received by the field office. <br />3.4 ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INCENTIVES PROGRAM (EQIP): (Continuous Sign -up) <br />EQIP applications are now being accepted for FY99. All applications received by .March <br />12, 1999 will be evaluated and ranked for the 1 st funding period of FY99. As of February <br />26, ten applications for Cabarrus County have received by the field office. <br />3.5 FORESTRY INCENTIVES PROGRAM (FIP): (Continuous Sign -up ) - FIP applications are now <br />being accepted for FY99. The Concord F.O. has not received any applications as of <br />February 26, 1999. <br />3.6 TRAINING AND MEETINGS: <br />March 03, 1999 - SWCD Area 8 Spring Meeting - Shelby, NC <br />ivlarch 17 -18, 1999 - Water Quality Training - Salisbury, NC <br />3.7 USDA CABARRUS COUNTY SERVICE CENTER NEWS - The USDA Cabarrus - Mecklenburg <br />County Service Center has received an upgraded telephone and computer system upgraded. <br />The installation of the USDA LAN/WAN/Voice system has been installed and completed. <br />The new published telephone number for the USDA Service Center is 704 -788 -2107. This <br />will allow the customer to reach all of the USDA Agencies in the county by calling one <br />number. To reach NRCS and the SWCD dial 3 when you hear the USDA Service Center <br />greeting. <br />4.0 Education and Technology Transfer <br />A team from Central Cabarrus High School will participate in the North Carolina Envirothon <br />Competition in Alamance County in April.
