USDA Natural Resources Conservation Report - Matt Kinane <br />3.1 Approval of Food Security Act (FSA) Plans <br />The following FSA plans were submitted to the Board for review and approval: <br />Operator Owner Tract Acres <br />John W. Barrier 5331 48.4 <br />MOTION: That the Board approve the compliance plans. <br />M /Helen Studdert S /Louis Suther <br />Motion carried. <br />3.2 Environmental Quality Incentives Program <br />The implementation time line for the North Carolina FY 2000 Environmental <br />Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) has been released. The first batching period <br />has begun and will close January 14, 2000. The second batching period will <br />close April 14, 2000. Copies )"each time line is provided as well as the FY 2000 <br />North Carolina EQIP Priority Area Ranking. <br />Highlights of some important areas are: <br />Cost Share Increments - <br />Modification Process - <br />Waste Storage Facility <br />Allowable in 1% increments. <br />All modifications must be initialed <br />by the County FSA Committee. <br />Temporary storage of waste handl- <br />ing equipment is not allowed. The <br />life span of this practice has <br />decreased to 10 years to be consis- <br />tent with NCACSP rules. <br />
