library network capable of meeting the needs of its member libraries <br />and selling products created by such a network; (c) maintaining a <br />research and developmen~ capability sufficient to'determine the <br />adequacy of current SOLINET servic~'and the need for additional <br />services; (d) developing and cooperating with others in the <br />~evelopment of technologies and services that are needed by its <br />member libraries; and (e) encouraging cooperation, based upon shared <br />decisionmaking, among the various library networks throughout the <br />country; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Member desires, pursuant to its membership in <br />SOLINET, to contract with SOLINET for certain bibliographic products <br />and serwices which SOLINET currently p~ovides to its membership and <br />for the opportunity to contract for any and all of the products and <br />processes which $OLINET may provide to its members in the future; <br /> <br /> NOW, T~EREFORE, for and in consideration of certain fees <br />and dues more fully set forth below, paid by Member to SOLINET, and <br />the mutual covenants and undertakings set forth herein, SOLINET and <br />Member covenant and agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1.
