5.6-13 Illumination: <br /> <br /> No flashieg or intermittent illumin~tioe shall be used <br />ce an advertising sign or structure. This does not include time or <br />temperature units. No sign shall be illuminnted, <br />COnStructed, or displayed in any manner which approximales <br />otlicial traffic or public notice signs or signals. <br /> <br />5.6-]4 Restrictions on Direct I.Ilum nation~ Bnnne..[s~ <br /> Strea~er.s~ etc: <br /> <br /> No source of illumiaatioa on a sign, such as <br />floodlights, spotlights, u~shielded bulbs, etc., shall be <br />directly visible from any public right-of-way, from any <br />residential district or from adjacent premises. <br /> <br />6_6-t5 Prohibited Locntions for Siqns: <br /> <br /> Except where specifically permitted by this ordinance, <br />al I signs, including the supports, frames and embellishments <br />thereto, shall not be located within any required setback <br />area or public right-of-way, nor shall any sign be attached, <br />affixed or painted upon any utility poles, any tree, rock or <br />other natural object. No sign shall be permitted on the <br />side street frontage of a corner lot, if such sign is <br />located within one hundred (100) feet of a residential <br />district. <br /> <br />5.6-16 Maintenance of Siqns: <br /> <br /> All sigeage in Cabarrus County is to be kept in good, <br />presentable condition. Paint is to be intact, neither <br />peeling nor faded, signs are also to be kept structurally <br />sound capable of standing erect or remaining securely <br />attached. <br /> <br />~.6-17 Nonconforminq Siqns: <br /> <br /> Nonconformities. On February 1, t982, Cabarrus County <br />enacted its first Zooing Ordinance With signage regulations. <br />The passage of this Ordinance created a class of <br />nonconformities which will henceforth be known as Class I <br />nonconformities. The 1969 rewrite of tho sign~ge portion of <br />this Ordinance creates another class of nonconformities, <br />henceforth known as Class II nonconformities. Class II <br />nonconformities are defined as signs created and erected <br />between February 2, 1982 and the effective dele et the <br />adoption of the rewrite of Senti.on 5.6, sign Regulations <br />which do not conform to the standards set forth in the 1989 <br /> <br /> nonconformities are subject to all rules and regulations <br /> <br /> 1 0 <br /> <br /> <br />
