Carpenter, chairman
Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
P. O. Box 707
concord, North carolina

The county animal control ordinance requires--l~censure
of all cats and dogs beginn£ng April 1, 1993. ~or a
couple of reasons it seems wise to postpone licensure
until July 1, 1993. ~irst of all, Concord has net yet
adopted our county ordinance and until this issue is
resolved there mill be considerable confusion ~ong
residents as to whose dogs and eats must be licensed.
Second!y, animal control ham not yet acquired the
computer equipmsnt necessary to properly automate the
licensure process.

For those reasons, please consider postponing
!ic~nsur~ until July 1, 1993. Thank you for your con-
sideration of this request.

With ~est regards,

William F. Pi!king,on
Health Director

WP:ft
