560 <br /> <br /> Ms. Doris Hurst of Lane Street in Kannapolis opposed regulations on a <br />business operating in an individual's home. <br /> Mr. Tom Dayvault, representative of the Cabarrus County Board of Realtors, <br />stated the Board of Realtors was not opposed to the concept of zoning but <br />objected to regulations governing the width and length of a lot and restrictions <br />limiting the density level of townhouses to five and six per acre in the Single <br />Family Residential District. <br /> Mr. J. F. Bullock of Virginia Street in Kannapolis opposed strict regulations <br />on mobile homes and restrictions on the number of poultry which can be raised on <br />one acre. <br /> Mr. J. L. Miller opposed the concept of zoning. <br /> Mr. William J. Clayton of Lane Street in Kannapolis spoke in favor of <br />zoning for Cabarrus County. <br /> Ms. Carmen Goodman objected to any type of zoning regulations and presented <br />petitions from residents of Kannapolis who were opposed to zoning. She asked <br />the Board to give the people the opportunity to vote on the matter. <br /> Mr. Gene Holbrooks stated he was not opposed to zoning but objected to the <br />"extreme" restrictions of the proposed ordinance. He specifically disapproved <br />of the restrictions regarding the disposition of property in a non-conforming <br />use district. <br /> Mr. Clinton Biggerstaff of Rainbow Drive in Kannapolis opposed the concept <br />of zoning. <br /> Mr. Nelson Miller of Kannapolis objected to the mobile home restrictions <br /> in the proposed ordinance. <br /> Mr. Donald Misenheimer, non-resident of the County, objected to mobile <br /> home restrictions and challenged the constitutionality of zoning. <br /> Mr. Donnie Raffaldt expressed objection to the concept of zoning. <br /> Mrs. Ron Goodman was against any type of zoning regulations, stating that <br /> persons should be able to do as they please with their property. <br /> Mr. R. K. Byrd of Lane Street in Kannapolis stated the proposed ordinance <br /> was too complicated and that the zoning issue should be decided by the voters <br /> in the County. <br /> Mr.. F. E. Isenhour objected to the classification of his farm under the <br /> proposed ordinance. <br /> Mr. Jim Rutledge of Kannapolis objected to the cost of administering zoning <br /> regulations. <br /> Mr. Jimmy Misenheimer, resident of Mecklenburg County, objected to the <br /> "strict" regulations of the ordinance, stating that these restrictions would <br /> impose a hardship on the poor or middle class of people. <br /> Mr. Jay Nodine, moderator, asked if anyone else in the audience wished to <br /> speak regarding zoning.
