588 <br /> <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that the Town of Mount Pleasant had applied to <br />the State of North Carolina for emergency funds in the amount of $15,000.00 to <br />cover the cost of the two wells that were drilled to provide a water supply <br />during the recent drought. He further reported that Senator James C. Johnson <br />had requested a letter of endorsement from Cabarrus County regarding the <br />Town's request for emergency funding. There were no objections to this <br />request, and Chairman Lentz stated he would send the letter of endorsement to <br />Senator Johnson. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to discuss <br />property acquisition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that the Board had discussed possible land <br />acquisition during the Executive Session and that no action was taken. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 12:25 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
