<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board accepted the Preliminary Engineering Report
<br />Summary, Cabarrus County Sewer Study~ as presented by Mr. Paul Watson of HDR
<br />Infrastructure, Inc.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the publication of the Notice of
<br />Intent to Apply to the Local Government Commission for Approval of Bonds in
<br />regards to the sewer bond referendum.
<br /> Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney, reported that the bond
<br />attorney had not forwarded the Notice of Intent for the $2 million bond
<br />referendum for a Rowan Technical College satellite campus in Cabarrus
<br />County.
<br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, announced that the County
<br />along with the municipalities in the County would be hosting the Centralina
<br />Council of Governments meeting at 6:15 P.M. on Wednesday, September 16,
<br />1987, at the Speedway Club.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to enter into contracts to purchase the
<br />following tracts of property for the Coddle Creek Reservoir project pursuant
<br />to the terms and conditions set forth in each of the respective contracts.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Cox~issioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to discuss
<br />a legal matter with the County Attorney.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and
<br />unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated.
<br /> Chairman Lentz reported that the Board had been in Executive Session
<br />with the County Attorney to discuss a legal matter.
<br /> Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until 4:00 P.M. on Friday,
<br />September 11, 1987.
