Barbee, Sr., <br />State Representative, for a resolution from the Board of Commissioners <br />regarding the placement of a turn lane at the intersection of U.S. Highway <br />601 South and North Carolina Highway 200. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution. <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognize the increased <br />traffic flow in Cabarrus County, resulting in hazardous locations for <br />citizens created by both local and regional transportation. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no improvements are currently planned for the intersection of <br />U.S. Highway 601 South and North Carolina Highway 200, and that reqqesting <br />improvements would not sacrifice scheduled highway improvements in Cabarrus <br />County. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS <br />COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: <br /> <br /> Hereby the Board request the installation of turn lanes at the afore- <br />mentioned location, to be constructed by the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation. <br /> <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that he had received a letter from the Chairman <br />of the Rowan County Board of Commissioners in appreciation of the Board's <br />resolution supporting Rowan County's opposition to the location of the <br />hazardous waste center in that county. <br /> Chairman Lentz asked that Mr. B. H. Mabrey, Sr., Emergency Services <br />Director, present a six months report on the First Responder Program at the <br />Board's meeting on Thursday. <br /> Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, <br />November 5, 1987. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
