Meeting No. 25 Continued <br />Meetings held were as follows: <br />Annual Meeting, State Association, Winston 1 <br />Water Seminar, Statesville 1 <br />Area 3, Bame's Restaurant 1 <br />Area 3, Rally, Asheboro 1 <br />District, Regular Monthly 12 <br />District, Special 7 <br />A copy of the sheet is attached as a record in these minutes. <br />The record shows there was a quorum present at all 19 District <br />meetings, with an overall attendance of 81 per cent. <br />Chairman Coltrane thanked the Supervisors for their interest in <br />conservation, which is exemplified by this excellent attendance record. <br />7. A motion was passed authorizing the Treasurer to pay the 1965 dues, <br />State and National and Area. <br />8. Setting Goals to be Reached in 1965: <br />The main goal to be reached in 1964 was to file application, with <br />proper preliminary procedure, with the U. S. Department of Agricult- <br />ure for assistance in establishing and developing an improvement <br />program for Coddle - Coldwater -Dutch Buffalo Creeks Watershed. <br />The Supervisors` =arid Associate;Supervisors decided on the following <br />_. GOALS to be reached in 1965: <br />a. Acquire 75 NEW COOPERATORS: anddouble the number of BASIC PLANS <br />which were completed last year. (57 Basic Plans were completed <br />in 1964) <br />b. Complete and adopt, before April 1, the long -range works program, <br />the study of which was begun last year. <br />C. Establish a Memorandum of Understanding with the U. S. Depart- <br />ment of'Agriculture. <br />d. Secure approval of the Watershed Improvement Program which was <br />filed in December. <br />e. To establish a policy and a working plan, and put them into <br />operation, for keeping the citizens of the District informed of <br />the importance of conserving soil and water. <br />9. Chairman Coltrane established four standing committees and announced <br />the appointment of Supervisors to act as Chairmen of these committees <br />to serve during 1965 as follows: <br />EDUCATION COMMITTEE, J. Lewis Patterson, Chairman <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE, Baker Brooks, Chairman <br />PUBLICITY COMMITTEE, S. I. Parker, Chairman <br />PUBLIC RELATION COMMITTEE, S. W. Colerider, Jr., Chairman <br />
