Meeting No. 66 continued <br />6. 'The District Conservationist made the following report on accomplishments <br />for the - month of October: <br />15 Radio Prograns <br />84 Cooperators assisted (with 22 first visits this year) <br />2 Consultive Services <br />3 New Cooperators ( 197 Acres) <br />2 Farm Plans ( 71 Acres) <br />Ill Acres Land Adequately Treated <br />A large number of:requests have been received from seventh grade students <br />for�literatnre on Conservation. <br />1�1r. Price reported that he spoke to the seventh grade students at Odell <br />School since our last meeting. <br />U <br />The slide series, " Roadbank Erosion" was received and shown to The Luthern <br />Women of Center Grove Church and returned to the State office. <br />Mr. Colerider made a motion that the Treasurer be authorized to pay Kale- <br />Lawing Company $79.31 for Scrap Books delivered to county elementary schools. <br />'The motion was seconded and passed. <br />8. Mr. Colerider made a motion that the District Treasury reimburse S. I. Parker <br />$226.88 which he paid from his personal funds for expenses of Area 3 Fall <br />I <br />Rally held in Concord, October 26, 1967, in which our District acted as host <br />for the occasion. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lewis Patterson. <br />9. Committee Reports: <br />Education: <br />a. Scrapbooks were delivered to the elementary schools, to be used as <br />a part of the seventh grade Conservation project. <br />b. 1he committee to select the Conservation Farmer of the Year reported <br />the selection of Mr. Frank Mitchell. The District Supervisors <br />endorsed this selection and requested that arrangements be made <br />for Mr. Mitchell to be present at the next meeting. <br />0. Lhe motion was made that Mir. Lewis Patterson co-tact the Concord <br />Tribune a have 14ATER 0' `IHE MOO-. reassembled. It is then to be <br />kept in the District office. <br />d. The Eli nisterial Association is to be contacted to find out how <br />many inserts for church bulletins on SOIL STOV43DSHIP CREEK are <br />desired for�this year. <br />Finance: <br />a. It was agreed that Mrs. McDaniel is doing an excellent job. <br />A motion was made and passed to increase Mrs. 11cDanielts pay rate <br />from $1.50 to $1.60 per hour; effective November 1, 1967. <br />Publicity: <br />a. Both the Concord Tribune and the Kannapolis Daily Independent <br />gave good coverage of the Area 3 District Rally. An interview <br />with the speaker, Honorable Sam J. Irvin, Jr., was covered on <br />WSOC-TV news. <br />
