A motion was made and unanimously passed that the Board of <br />Supervisors absorb expenses of the Educational Conservation <br />tours now being conducted. <br />5. The District Conservationist gave the following report of accomplishments <br />during the month of SEPTEMBER: <br />6 Radio Programs <br />33 Cooperators assisted (with 23 first visits) <br />I Conservation Plan <br />2 Agreements signed (Total of 570 acres) <br />2 Consultive Services <br />1 Acre Wildlife Development <br />500 Feet- Tile Drainage <br />1 ACP Referral <br />Mr. Price reported the following: <br />9-1-70--Worked with Charlotte Motor Speed Julia and Twin Oaks <br />9-8,9,10,11-70--Worked with Mr. Doug Hattersley taking siesmograr)h studies <br />on structure sites 19 and 34. <br />9-17-70--Attended the Watershed Workshop in Salisbury <br />9-24-70--Attended a Staff Conference in Albemarle--At 5:OOP.M., he met <br />with a Committee to view farm operations for selection of Area <br />III Farmer of The Year. <br />9-28-70--Al-lelped conduct the Educational Conservation tour. <br />9-29,30-70--Attended the Urban Information Workshop in Salisbury. <br />6. Committee Reports: <br />Education: <br />a. As of this meeting, the Conservation tours are well underway <br />with the seventh grade County School students under the direction <br />of Dr. R. Brown McAllister. <br />Litterbags purchased by the Board of Supervisors are being <br />distributed to the students on their trips. <br />Finance: No Report <br />Publicity: <br />a. A report was given of Mr. Doug Hattersley being in Cabarrus County <br />on September 8,9,10 and 11 working on siesmograph studies. <br />b. A report was made on the Watershed Workshop held September 17, 1970 <br />in Salisbury at the Holiday Inn. The Workshop began at 9:50 A.M. <br />and concluded at 4:00 P.M. To those unable to attend the <br />Workshop, it was explained at this meeting that some of the laws <br />concerning various phases of Watershed programs had been changed <br />in the past few years. A question and answer program was presented, <br />The Workshop was well prepared and organized by the State office <br />personnel. Approximately representatives from 30 Counties attended <br />the meeting. <br />
