District Conservationist Report: <br />A report was made by W.H.Cato of the accomplishments of the District <br />Conservationist during January, 1972: <br />12 Radio Programs <br />15 Cooperators Assisted (16 first visits) <br />1 Conservation Plan: <br />Gordon Heights-Group Job® 800 Acres <br />1 District Cooperator <br />C. M. Brown (Mobile Park) 42 Acres <br />5 Inventories and Evaluations <br />31 Acres Land adequately treated <br />JANUARY: <br />6 Met with Jackson Park Community group discussing formation <br />of Sanitary district. <br />11 Salisbury-Group training on recreation. <br />14 Tommy Cutts, Civil Engineer-Working on Watershed structure <br />locations. <br />17 Woodrow Haskins and Phil Cohen studing Watershed structure <br />sites. <br />18 Attended the State meeting of Soil and Water Conservation <br />Districts in Charlotte. <br />20 Spoke to kindergarten at Providence Baptist Mission (Cato) <br />20 Gastonia for group training in sediment and erosion control. <br />31- Talked with and showed tour movie to seventh graders at <br />Harrisburg School. <br />6. Committee Reports: <br />EDUCATION: <br />a. W. H. Cato, in conference with Dr. McAllister, selected <br />March 2, 1972 at 7:00 P.M. (the regular meeting of the <br />BoardO to hold the speaking contest at A. T. Allen School. <br />b. The land judging contest will be held in Cabarrus County <br />on March 23, 1972 at 2:00 P.M. In case of rain, it will <br />be held on March 24, 1972 at 2:00 P.M. <br />C. Reverend Allred told of plans that he and Mr. Cato had made <br />to get Soil Stewardship information made available to more <br />ministers in Cabarrus County. Mr. H. A. Smith wrote that <br />bulletins and inserts would not be available until March 15, <br />1972. Fifty Soil Stewardship booklets were ordered and <br />have been delivered to Reverend Allred (before March 6, 1972. <br />All present were in agreement that all materials requested <br />would be furnished to Reverend Allred. <br />
