5-R6CP referrals; 21 acres conservation cropping system; 21 acres contour <br />farming; 21 acres minimum tillage; 27 acres Pasture & Hayland Planting; <br />27 acres Pasture & 91ayland Management and 48 acres land adequately treated. <br />The District Conservationist was in Raleigh for an SCS State meeting on <br />October 8,9, 10 and in Raleigh for a training course on October 15, 16 <br />6. Committee Reports: <br />CDUCATION: <br />a. Slides of the various places visited during the tours were shown to those <br />present. <br />b. It was reported that the Cabarrus District has submitted their nominee.. <br />C. B. RHOMIS, for the Wildlife Award. <br />c. The Annual Speech contest will be held at Central Cabarrus High School <br />on Tuesday, December 10, 1974 at 7:30 P.M. <br />The District Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners will have their, <br />regular meeting following the Speech contest. <br />A motion was made and unanimously passed requesting that Hugh Price <br />make arrangements to have judges for the Speech contest. <br />FINANCE: No report <br />I <br />PUBLICITY: <br />All three local newspapers carried the election returns; Daily <br />Independent, The Concord Tribune and Cabarrus Adviser. <br />It was unanimously agreed that letters be written to the three news- <br />papers thanking them for their sup-port in the election. <br />The local radio stations also gave excellent coverage of the election. <br />a. It was announced that three Watershed Vlorkshops are being held during <br />the month of November. Chairman Patterson urgod those who could to <br />attend the Workshop in Winston -Salem on November 20th beginning at <br />9:30 A.M. <br />b. Cross section surveys of the streams in Cabarrus County are still being <br />studied by the survey crew. Approximately 250 cross sections have been <br />completed and studied. <br />7. Unfinished Business: <br />Goodyear score cards for the Cabarrus District were discussed. <br />9.
