4. Treasurer's report: <br />February 14, 1978 NET CASH IN BANK $3172.43 <br />5. The District Conservationist gave the following report: <br />Accomplishments for January: District Cooperators (7) Individual <br />Groups assisted (25) Technical services (9) Technical services applied <br />(26) Individual and Groups applying practices (5) Conservation plans <br />revised (2-360 acres) Technical services for area planning (10) and <br />Government agencies assisted (2). <br />Mr. Price reported attending the following meetings: <br />7 District Conservationists meeting <br />8 Taped TV program on watersheds <br />9 Training session on Inventory and Monitoring in Salisbury <br />Mr. Price reported that he will be attending a meeting on Sediment Control <br />in Statesville on February 16, 1978. <br />EDUCATION: (Hogan) <br />A. Rev. Hogan reported that plans have been made to take Linda <br />Dunn to the Area VIII Speech contest in Lincolnton, N. C. on <br />February 27, 1978. The contest is to be held at 2:00 P.M. <br />B. An announcement was made that plans are under way for the <br />Land Judging contest to be held March 23, 1978 at 2:30 P.M. <br />(rain date-March 30, 1978). Central Cabarrus High School <br />and Mt. Pleasant High School will be participating in the contest. <br />C. Rev. Hogan reported receiving the Soil Stewardship material and <br />plans are being made to use the radio spot announcements. <br />Material for Soil Stewardship Week will be discussed and ordered <br />after the March meeting. <br />FINANCE: (Grant) <br />A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed authorizing <br />the Treasurer to pay the following: <br />1978 State and National Dues $253.00 <br />1978 Land-Use Congress Dues 15:.00 <br />WATERSHED: (Smith) <br />Mr. Price reported that State personnel were in Cabarrus County area <br />working on stream quality above proposed structure sites for multi- <br />purpose or recreational use. <br />Mr. Price requested the sponsors make a determination on sites 15 <br />and 16 concerning who will store additional water and how much <br />additional water is to be stored. These determinations need to be <br />made by the sponsors to obtain information for the State watershed <br />staff. <br />
