5. <br />M,h Price, District Conservationist, gave the following report: <br />a. RCA meetings have been held allowing the participating <br />agencies and the public a chance to express their opinions <br />of needs for the county. <br />b. With several other conservationpractices increasing during <br />the month of August, 3 conservation plans for 506 acres <br />were completed. <br />c. An announcement was made that Mr. Thomas H. Wetmore, Jr. is <br />to begin his duties as Area Conservationist for Area 8 <br />beginning September 24, 1978. <br />6. <br />Mr. Randall W. <br />Michigan where <br />te will fill <br />(Programs). <br />be transferring to East Lansing, <br />the position of Assistant State <br />b. An announcement was made that the conservation tours have been <br />planned to be held October 2-6, 1978. Supervisors, Associate <br />Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners volunteered to be <br />present for one day of the tours to briefly explain their role <br />in Soil and Water Conservation: <br />October 2- J. Lewis Patterson October 3® J. Paul Bowles <br />October 4® Rev. Tom Hogan October 5® Wesley B. Grant and <br />October 6- one of the Watershed Commissioners. <br />C. Plans are being finalized for the Annual Speech contest <br />and is scheduled to be held on: <br />Tuesday, December 12, 1978 at 7:00 P.M. <br />Hartsell Middle School Auditorium <br />Judges for the contest have been selected and will be , <br />contacted as soon as possible requesting their participation <br />in the speech contest. <br />
