d. After discussion, a motion was made, seconded and passed authorizing the purchase of 10,000 book marks for Soil Stewardship Week (May 12 -19). The Extension Homemakers are cooperating with the District to distribute the book marks to the churches in the county. e. The supervisors suggested that the office staff (Hugh,Bill and Eyvonne) make the decision for a candidate to attend the Resource Conservation Workshop to be held in Raleigh (June 23 -28). Entry blanks are due to be in the NRCD office by May 15th. A motion was made and passed to pay the candidate's expenses of $175.00. LAND -USE: (John Hammill) John Hammill presented for review material and information received in the District office on American Land Resource Association. A copy of the information will be filed in the office if any supervisors requests a copy. WhTERSHED: (Lipe Barrier) a. Hugh Price reported that the 1985 -1986 Watershed budget had been presented to Mr. McGinnis. A request was made that priorities on stream work be outlined on a map to provide information of those areas needing the most urgent and provide the most beneficial needs of the streams needing work done. On March 15th, Jerry Hammill, Mike Harkey, Tommy Smith and Hugh Price inspected some sections of streams in the county that need to be a number one priority for clearing debris. It was suggested by some of the supervisors that the Sheriff be invited to attend a meeting to discuss the possibility of trying to stop, through enforcement, the depositing of garbage and trash in creeks and streams. 6. The report of District Conservationist, Hugh Price, is attached to these minutes. 7. NEW BUSINESS: Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. The next meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, May 14, Agriculture Center- at 8:00 P.M. 9. With no further business, the meeting adjourned. A.
