d. After discussion, a motion was made, seconded and passed authorizing the <br />purchase of 10,000 book marks for Soil Stewardship Week (May 12 -19). <br />The Extension Homemakers are cooperating with the District to distribute <br />the book marks to the churches in the county. <br />e. The supervisors suggested that the office staff (Hugh,Bill and Eyvonne) <br />make the decision for a candidate to attend the Resource Conservation <br />Workshop to be held in Raleigh (June 23 -28). Entry blanks are due to <br />be in the NRCD office by May 15th. A motion was made and passed to pay <br />the candidate's expenses of $175.00. <br />LAND -USE: (John Hammill) <br />John Hammill presented for review material and information received in <br />the District office on American Land Resource Association. A copy of <br />the information will be filed in the office if any supervisors requests <br />a copy. <br />WhTERSHED: (Lipe Barrier) <br />a. Hugh Price reported that the 1985 -1986 Watershed budget had been <br />presented to Mr. McGinnis. <br />A request was made that priorities on stream work be outlined on a map <br />to provide information of those areas needing the most urgent and provide <br />the most beneficial needs of the streams needing work done. <br />On March 15th, Jerry Hammill, Mike Harkey, Tommy Smith and Hugh Price <br />inspected some sections of streams in the county that need to be a <br />number one priority for clearing debris. <br />It was suggested by some of the supervisors that the Sheriff be invited <br />to attend a meeting to discuss the possibility of trying to stop, through <br />enforcement, the depositing of garbage and trash in creeks and streams. <br />6. The report of District Conservationist, Hugh Price, is attached to these <br />minutes. <br />7. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. <br />The next meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, May 14, Agriculture Center- <br />at 8:00 P.M. <br />9.
