Chairman's report: <br />(a)Letters were reviewed from: (1) Iris Curry Area I -NACD Southeastern <br />Regional Meeting on July 12 -22, 1987. The District received the letter <br />on July 27th. (2) Leonard Furr announcing Regional Farm Family of the <br />Year judging on August 4, 1987 (3) David Side, NRCD Director, requesting <br />nonthly news and information items from Districts (4) Ed Church, Jr. <br />concerning N. C. Agricultural Cost Share Program. <br />(b) Announced Cabarrus County Agricultural Fair Week - September 14 -19, 1987. <br />(c) AREA VIII FALL MEETING- October 14, 1987, Learning Center, Registration <br />at 5:00 P.M. <br />(d) Announced the AMERICAN AGRICULTURE AT THE CROSSROADS Conference- <br />November 1 -3, 1987, Hyatt - Regency Hotel, Kansas City, Missouri. <br />FINANCE: <br />(a) August 11, 1987 NET CASH IN BANK $380.96 <br />(b) Frank Herrin made a contribution to the Trophy Fund. <br />EDUCATION <br />E. E. Bishop made reports that: <br />1. The Cabarrus County Fair exhibit sponsored by the District <br />is near completion. <br />2. Plans for the Conservation Workshop and tours for eighth grade <br />students are well under way with the cooperation of the school <br />administrators. <br />LAND -USE: No report <br />Hugh Price reported that Charlie Fisher is ready to begin work on <br />stream clearing. <br />10. OLD BUSINESS: <br />1. Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. <br />2. Wives and husbands are invited to attend the AREA VIII FALL MEEETING <br />in October. <br />11. NEW BUSINESS <br />Meeting planned with Ed Church, Jr. on August 25th to finalize the plans <br />for the AREA VIII MEETING. <br />12.
