EDUCATION: (Herrin) <br />Frank Herrin reported for his son, Mark who was working and unable to attend <br />the meeting. The Conservation Resource Workshop was held on June 24 -29, 1990. <br />Mark attended the Conservation Resource Workshop held in Raleigh at N.0 State <br />University. Chairman Herrin expressed that Mark enjoyed his week at the <br />Workshop and the activities offered to the students who attend each year. <br />A luncheon and awards program was held on June 29th with parents, instructors, <br />counselors , special guests and those students winning awards. Mr. Albert <br />Troutman, Chairman of the N. C. Soil and Water Conservation Commission was <br />the Master of Ceremonies. <br />WATERSHED (Barrier) <br />A report was made that the Watershed Commission has advertised for bids to do <br />the stream clearing work this year. <br />LAND -USE (Moose - Kuykendall) <br />Whitaker Moose commnted that with the tremendous amount of urban growth <br />and less farming being done, that future generations will need to go back to <br />agriculture and the importance of conserving areas to produce food products. <br />7. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Expense vouchers for this meting were signed by the supervisors. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS: <br />a. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed naming Dennis <br />Testerman as the Technical Representative with the Cost -Share Program. <br />Also, Hugh Price will act as Representative if Dennis is out of the <br />office for training or vacation tim . <br />b. The Matching Funds report will be prepared and sent to Mr. Charles <br />Bullock before August 1, 1990. <br />c. The Cabarrus Soil and Water District's PLAN OF OPERATIONS for 1990 -1991 <br />were completed and distributed to the appropriate offices in Raleigh <br />Salisbury and - - to those present at this meting. <br />9. The next meting is scheduled to be held on: <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 1990 Agriculture Center 8:00 P.M. <br />10. The meting adjourned. <br />A. Frank Herrin, Jr., Chairman <br />Sue B.
