Chairman Herrin announced that space has been reserved for the Cabarrus <br />Soil and Water District to enter an exhibit in the Cabarrus County Fair - <br />September 10 -15, 1990. <br />Chairman Herrin asked that our new employees and the office staff have <br />an exhibit ready to enter during fair week. <br />o1 <br />The bid selected for stream cleaning was approved by the County Commissioners <br />for the Cabarrus Co. Watershed Commission. The bid was let to Charles <br />Fisher. Clearing the streams will begin soon. Officials of Mecklenburg <br />County has agreed to pay $10,000.00 toward stream clearing as the work <br />reaches into that area. <br />LAND -USE: <br />Mr. P. H. Seagraves, cost -share cooperator, completed a conservation practice <br />planned on his farm. The work was spot checked and verification was signed <br />by Chairman Frank Herrin. Mr. Seagraves received the first check under the <br />cost -share program. <br />The Cost -Share Program for this fiscal year was advertised in the Concord <br />Tribune (8- 2 -90), the Cabarrus Neighbors (8 -5 -90) and the Daily Independent <br />(8 -9 -90� The advertisements were to encourage landowners to sign up by <br />August 17, 1990 which begins the second year of the Cost -Share Program. <br />Notices of the sign -up were also sent to the local radio stations. <br />Chairman Frank Herrin signed five (5) applications at this meeting for <br />landowners who have requested conservation needs under the cost -share <br />program. <br />7. OLD BUSINESS: Expense vouchers were signed at this meeting. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS: <br />a. Frankie Singleton - District Technician and Dennis Testerman -Cost -Share <br />Specialist was introduced to those supervisors who had not met them. <br />b. Mr. Paul Bowles requested that he would like for the District to accept <br />his resignation as an Associate Supervisor when his tune expires. <br />Tuesday, September 18, 1990 Agriculture Center 8:00 P.M. <br />10. A. Frank Herrin, Jr. and Mrs. Myra Morrison has filed at the Board of Elections <br />for the position of Cabarrus Soil & Water District supervisor in the coming <br />election. <br />11.
