Cabarrus BWCD Meeting -2- October 13, 1992 <br />' <br />3.42 Speech Contest - Dennis Testerman reported a Speech Workshop <br />conducted by Cathy Jewett with Cabarrus County Schools will be <br />held October 19 and that the Annual Speech Contest is scheduled i <br />for December 3. \ / <br />Dennis also reported that Big Sweep cleanup was a success. Twenty <br />volunteers collected 45 bags of trash on Lake Fisher and along <br />Dutch Buffalo Creek. <br />3.43 Student Visitation/Tour <br />Terry Best reported that Matt Wagoner, a teacher at Concord High <br />School, has requested a visitation/tour for a class of <br />10 to 12 students to learn about soil and water conservation. <br />Arrangements for this tour are underway. Whitaker Moose <br />suggested that we talk to Phillip Morris about conservation <br />practices. <br />4. OLD BUSINESS <br />4.1 Employee of the Year - Wilson - Frankie Singleton reported that <br />Robert Horton of the Wadesbnro Field Office was selected as the <br />recipient of this year's award. <br />4.2 Office Space— There was much discussion about the length of time <br />it was taking us to get into the new office space. There was a <br />consensus that this move should be made immediately. <br />| <br />4.3 Resolution/Letter from Governor Martin - The reply from Governor / <br />Martin to our resolution/letter was passed around to all supervisors <br />for their information. <br />5. NEW BUSINESS <br />5.1 Dennis Testerman reported on Employee Appreciation Day. <br />5.2 Area VIII Fall Meeting - Travel arrangements were discussed. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br />-A A & '. <br />Frank Herrin, Chairman <br />Sue B.
