MINUTES -2- September 12, 1995 <br />3.5 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GIVEN: <br />- 08 farms /businesses were contacted during the month. <br />- 17 walk -ins were assisted <br />3.5 Helen Barnes & Matt Kinane attended FOCS Contract Training on September 11 and 12. <br />4. INFORMATION /EDUCATION - Dennis Testerman <br />4.1 A bulletin board is now in place outside the District office. Big Sweep information is <br />currently on display. <br />4.2 A 36" x 54" photo of the Vann McGlamery family, 1995 Conservation Farm Family, is <br />the centerpiece of the District exhibit at the county fair. <br />4.3 Conservation Field Days - began this week and will continue through the week of <br />October 2. <br />4.4 Big Sweep is set for Saturday, September 16. A cleanup of Patterson Branch at Jackson <br />Park Elementary School is planned for the first time. A Big Sweep proclamation was <br />issued by the Board of Commissioners. <br />4.6 A Memorandum of Understanding on environmental education between the Cabarrus <br />County Schools and the Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District was distributed <br />and reviewed. <br />MOTION: THAT THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BE APPROVED. M) <br />MORRISON, S) HARKEY, C <br />5. NC AGRICULTURE COST SHARE PROGRAM -Richard Taylor <br />5.1 INFORMATION/CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Matt reported on the N. C. Soil and Water Conservation Commission Meeting on Sept. 1, <br />1995. He reported that some administrative changes are being made in the program; i.e. <br />ACS contracts will now expire the first Wednesday in June. Division of Soil and Water <br />will notify the field office in the near future regarding these changes. <br />Composter /Litter Storage Structure design for 13- 95 -07 -16 has been approved by area <br />office. (Ray Holland /James Isenhour) <br />5.2 APPLICATIONS AND AGREEMENTS <br />Repairs to Cropland Conversion to Grass —Larry Mesimer - NCACSP contract 13- 94 -12- <br />16. (Seeded in fall '94) <br />Donald Hill, Sr.; Sod -based rotation. <br />MOTION: THAT THE ABOVE MENTIONED APPLICATIONS AND AGREEMENTS BE <br />APPROVED.
