314 <br /> <br /> The remaining appointment to fill the position currently held by Mr. Alexis <br />Stinson was deferred to a later date. <br /> <br />Appointments Fire District Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper with <br />Commissioners Payne and Casper and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the Board <br />appointed the following Fire Protection District Commissioners as submitted by <br />each of the volunteer fire departments. Appointments were for terms of two years <br />ending March 31, 1995. <br /> <br />ALLEN: Aubrey Bo§er, Ralph Honeycutt, John Campbell <br />COLD WATER: James H. Overcash <br /> <br />6ppointment - Tourism Authority (1) <br /> <br /> The Board received the recommendation from the Kannapolis Chamber of <br />Commerce for the appointment of Mr. Roger Haas to the Tourism Authority to fill <br />a position created by the resignation of Mr. Jim Moore. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper with <br />Commissioners Payne and Casper and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the Board <br />appointed Mr. Roger Haas to the Tourism Authority as submitted by the Kannapolts <br />Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Haas will complete an unexpired term ending December <br />31, 1995. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting Schedule for the Month of July <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Chairman Carpenter and Commissioners Payne and Casper voting for, the Board set <br />the regular meeting schedule for the month of July as follows: 9:00 A.M. on <br />Tuesday, July 6, and 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 22. <br /> <br />Water and Sewer District Meeting <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter recessed the meeting until the conclusion of the meeting <br />of the Board of Commissioners for the Water and Sewer District. <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter reconvened the meeting of the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br />INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Chairman Carpenter opened the floor for Informal Public Comments. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Commissioners Casper and Payne and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the Board <br />adopted the following motion: That in light of the pressures that the County <br />Commissioners have and the deadlines with trying to get through the budget season <br />that we dispense with public comments until a later date. <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter stated that the deletion of informal comments period <br />would be effective at the next meeting. She again asked if anyone were present <br />who wished to address the Board at this time. There was no one present to <br />address the Board, and Chairman Carpenter closed the public comments portion of <br />the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
