Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />Resolution to Establish the Cabarrus County Department of Aging Trust Fund <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 1997-42 <br /> <br />North Carolina <br />Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE <br />CABARRUS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF AGING TRUST FUND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Department of Aging has received <br />$3,115.00 in memorials and/or donations to be used for capital <br />improvements for the Cabarrus County Department of Aging and Senior <br />Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Department of Aging Advisory <br />Board has voted unanimously to support the establishment of this <br />trust fund and pledged continued support to promote this trust fund; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Department of Aging is listed as <br />a beneficiary in the will of a late participant/advocate of our <br />department that is currently in the process of being settled; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County agrees to maintain and administer the <br />trust fund. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE; the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus County <br />does hereby determine and resolve the following: <br /> <br /> 1. The County shall establish the Cabarrus County Department <br />of Aging Trust Fund with the $3,115.00 that has been donated to <br />date, <br /> 2. The funds shall be placed in a separate interest bearing <br />money market account, or similar account, to be maintained and <br />administered by the Cabarrus County Finance Department. <br /> 3. The principal and interest earned in this trust fund will <br />be utilized for capital improvements for the Cabarrus County <br />Department of Aging and/or Senior Center, development and/or <br />expansion of Department of Aging programs or as matching funds for <br />grants that will fund similar projects for the Cabarrus County <br />Department of Aging. <br /> 4. Appropriation of these funds shall be made by the Cabarrus <br />County Department of Aging Advisory Board with input from their <br />Strategic Planning Sub-committee. <br /> 5. Should the Cabarrus County Department of Aging Trust Fund <br />be discontinued for any reason, the balance remaining in the trust <br />fund shall be transferred to the Cabarrus County Department of Aging <br />general budget. <br /> <br />Meeting is open session, this the 15th day of December, 1997. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Frankie F.
