May 17, 2004 Page 440 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF BOARD OF ELECTIONS <br />AMOUNT: $134,073.24 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To appropriate grant funds received 08/19/03 of <br />$134,073.24 from the NC State Board of Elections for the voting system buyout <br />as authorized by the Title I Help America Vote Act (HAVA). The amount of the <br />grant was determined by multiplying the number of precincts in the County <br />that qualified for buyouts funds (by using either lever or punch card <br />machines in November 2002) by the Federal Funds available for each qualifying <br />precinct based upon Congress's FY 2002/03 appropriation. The last change in the fee <br />schedule was April 2002. The increased fees would become effective July 1, <br />2004 to allow time to notify builders of the changes. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following revised Construction <br />Standards Permit Fee Schedules effective July 1, 2004. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS <br />FEE SCHEDULES <br /> EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2004 <br /> <br />SCHEDULE A - NEW CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />General <br />Value of Construction <br /> <br />Permit Fee <br /> <br />$0 - $I5,000 $75.00 <br />15,001 - 25,000 113.00 <br />25,001 - 40,000 176.00 <br />40,001 - 50,000 218.00 <br /> <br />Estimated construction cost above $50,000 will be charged an additional $3.00 <br />per additional $1,000.00 building value. <br /> <br />*Estimated cost for residential construction will be based on the total cost <br />of construction or $55.00 per square foot of heated space and $25.00 per <br />square foot of unheated space whichever is greater.
