June 24, 2004 Page 556 <br /> <br />Water and Sewer District of Cabarrus County (Recessed Meeting - if needed) <br /> <br /> It was determined that a meeting of the Water and Sewer District was <br />not needed at this time. ~ <br /> <br />Sale of County-owned Property <br /> <br /> Mr. Day reported an offer of $1.2 million was received from Danny Bost <br />LLC for the former First Union Building. He asked the Board to accept the <br />offer, subject to any changes deemed necessary by the County Manager and <br />County Attorney, and to initiate the upset bid process. Ms. Porter reported <br />the bid included a 90-day due diligence period and closing to occur in 60 <br />days. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Suggs, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />with vice Chairman Suggs, Chairman Freeman and Commissioners Privette and <br />Carruth voting for, the Board accepted the $1.2 million offer, subject to any <br />changes deemed necessary by the County Manager and County Attorney, from <br />Danny Bost LLC for the former First Union Building and authorized the County <br />Manager to initiate the upset bid process. <br /> <br /> Mr. Day reported an offer of $325,000.00 was received from Carolina <br />Radiator for approximately 2.080 acres of property located in front of the <br />former School Administrative Building. He proposed the sale of the property <br />as an economic development project and asked the Board to accept the offer <br />subject to any changes deemed necessary by the County Manager or County <br />Attorney. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Suggs, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />with Vice Chairman Suggs, Commissioners Privette and Carruth and Chairman <br />Freeman voting for, the Board accepted the offer of $325,000.00 by Carolina <br />Radiator to purchase approximately 2.080 acres of property located in front <br />of the former School Administrative Building, subject to North Carolina <br />General Statute 158-7.1 and to any changes deemed necessary by the County <br />Manager or County Attorney. The conveyance shall be subject to a public <br />hearing prior to the closing, if any. <br /> <br />Ad~ourrunent <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by vice Chairman Suggs <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
