November 29, 2004 Page 682 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in recessed <br />session in the Multipurpose Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental Center <br />in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, Noven%ber 29, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Robert M. Freeman <br /> Vice Chairman: Richard D. Suggs <br /> Commissioners: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> Robert W. Carruth <br /> Coy C. Privette <br /> <br /> Also present were John D. Day, County Manager; Marilyn D. Porter, <br />County Attorney; and Frankie F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br /> In addition, the followin9 individuals were present for the meetingi <br />Don Cummings, Human Resources Director; Jim Cook, Social Services Director; <br />and Robert Mathis, Chairman of the Social S~rvices Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carruth gave the invocation. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Suggs, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved, to go into Closed Session in <br />accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a) (3) to consult <br />with the county Attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege and to <br />discuss pending litigation (Craft Development and Craft Homes Vs. the County <br />and Morrison vs. the County). The Board invited Mr. Cummings, Mr. Cook and <br />Mr. Mathis to join the Board for a portion of the Closed Session. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Suggs, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of.Closed Session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the Closed Session. <br /> <br />Ad~ourr~nent <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 10:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
