Juba, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the united States; so help me, God. I, Joni D. Juba, do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina, and to the constitutional powers and authorities which are or may be established for the government thereof; and that I will endeavor to support, maintain, and defend the Constitution of the United States, to the best of my knowledge and ability; so help me God. Erwin Spainhour Senior Resident Superior Court Judge (D) ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairman Freeman turned the meeting over to John Day, County Manager, who presided over the organization of the Board. Mr. Day called for nominations for Chairman. Commissioner Juba moved for the appointment of Commissioner Carpenter to the position of Chairman. Commissioner Carruth seconded the motion. Commissioner Privette nominated Commissioner Freeman for appointment to the position of Chairman, citing his past leadership of the Board. Commissioner Freeman seconded the motion. Commissioner Carpenter was elected Chairman by the following vote: Voting for Commissioner Freeman: Commissioners Privette and Freeman Voting for Commissioner Carpenter: Commissioners Carpenter, Carruth and Juba Chairman Freeman expressed his pleasure in serving the citizens of Cabarrus County as Chairman of the Board and stated his intent to continue to work with Chairman Carpenter, the other Board members and the citizens of Cabarrus County.
