<br />February 6, 2006 - Work Session <br /> <br />Page <br /> <br />492 <br /> <br />Mr. Montague <br />operation of the <br />facilities. <br /> <br />responded <br />AED's and <br /> <br />to a <br />their <br /> <br />variety of <br />placement <br /> <br />questions related <br />in a majority of <br /> <br />to the <br />county <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Freeman, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the purchase of Automatic <br />External Defibrillators (AED), including an AED Policy and a Memorandum of <br />Agreement with the Cabarrus Health Alliance, on the February 20, 2006 Agenda <br />as a Consent item. <br /> <br />Agricultural Advisory Board Appointment - Exception to Appointment Policy <br /> <br />Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager, presented a request from Randy <br />Fisher for an exception to the Appointment Policy for Boards and Committees. <br />Mr. Fisher, a member of the Watershed Improvement Commission, was recently <br />appointed to the Agricultural Advisory Board and would like to continue to <br />serve on both boards. Mr. Downs explained that Mr. Fisher, who represents <br />the Cattlemen's Association on the Agricultural Advisory Board, believes his <br />knowledge of storm water regulations would be beneficial to both boards. <br /> <br />Board Members expressed the following sentiments: (1) if an exception <br />is granted for one, it would have to be granted for all; (2) everyone should <br />have the opportunity to serve on a board; (3) there are too many people that <br />are not serving on any boards; and (4) that Mr. Fisher should choose one <br />board or the other. <br /> <br />By consensus, the Board agreed for Randy Fisher to choose if he would <br />prefer to serve on Watershed Improvement Commission or the Agricultural <br />Advisory Board. <br /> <br />SCheduling of Retreat with the Boards of Education <br /> <br />Chairman Carruth announced the retreat with the Boards <br />would be held on March 21 and 22, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. <br />Cabarrus Room A at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. <br /> <br />of Education <br />9:00 p.m. in <br /> <br />Scheduling of Retreat for the Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />Board Members scheduled a retreat for Saturday, March 18, 2006, from <br />9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center. <br />The Board will review the budget process and revenue projections at that <br />time. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />with there being no further business to corne before the Board, Chairman <br />Carruth adjourned the meeting at 5:24 p.m. <br /> <br />J-~ 3-.-~ <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br />
