<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the creation of a Soil & Water
<br />Special Revenue account within the Special Projects Fund and adopted the
<br />following budget amendment:

<br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE/SOIL & WATER
<br />AMOUNT: $18,200.00
<br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: SUPPLEMENTAL REQUEST
<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: This budget amendment is to appropriate revenue received
<br />from the State of North Carolina in the amount of $15,200 for EEP -
<br />Environmental Education Programs. In addition, the Concord Civic Garden
<br />Council has donated $1,000 to establish a native mini-prairie, wildflower
<br />meadow project in the parks. A seed drill received through grant funds will
<br />also be rented out for use by citizens of the county as additional revenue to
<br />pay for repairs and maintenance. Funds will be accounted for in the County's
<br />Special Project Fund to keep funds separate at the request of the Soil &
<br />Water Board.

<br />(F-4) Name Recommendation for New Cabarrus County Park on Pharr Mill Road
<br />On August 21, 2006 Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners approved a
<br />policy and proceduresfor naming County Parks and Recreation facilities. Ten
<br />names were submitt.edto Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission from
<br />October 1 thru November 16, 2006 for naming the new County park on Pharr Mill
<br />Road. On March 15, 2007 the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission
<br />recommended the new County park be named "Pharr Mill Road Park".
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved "Pharr Mill Road Park" as the
<br />official name for the new Cabarrus County Park on Pharr Mill Road as
<br />recommended by the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission.
