March 24, 2008 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 768 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Marvin L. Bost, Jerry W. Pless <br />and Louis Suther to the Cabarrus County Agricultural Advisory Board for <br />three-year terms ending January 31, 2011. <br />(H-3) Board of Equalization and Review <br />Lester Shelton recently resigned from the Board of Equalization and <br />Review. The Tax Administrator recommended David McClellan (alternate) be <br />appointed to complete Mr. Shelton's unexpired term. Subsequently, an <br />appointment is needed to fill Mr. McClellan's unexpired term as an alternate. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed David McClellan to the Board of <br />Equalization and Review as a regular member to complete an unexpired term <br />ending June 30, 2008 and appointed Ronald Page as an alternate to complete <br />McClellan's unexpired term ending June 30, 2008. By the same vote, the Board <br />reappointed David McClellan and Ronald Page for an additional three-year <br />terms ending June 30, 2011. <br />(H-4) Park Commission <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Howard Hurlocker (Eastern) and <br />James Guess (Concord) to the Park Commission for three-year terms ending <br />January 31, 2011. By the same vote, the Board appointed Scott Aldrich <br />(Kannapolis) to the Park Commission to complete an unexpired term ending <br />January 31, 2011. <br />(H-5) Central Area Land Uae Plan Advisory Committee <br />Chairman White reported appointments are needed for the Central Area <br />Land Use Plan Advisory Committee. He recommended Commissioners Carruth and <br />Mynatt serve on a committee to select recommendations for appointments to the <br />Central Area Land Use Plan Advisory Committee. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board delegated authority to a committee <br />consisting of Commissioners Carruth and Mynatt, to appoint members to the <br />Central Area Land Use Plan Advisory Committee. <br />Commissioner Carruth requested nominations be submitted by Thursday, <br />March 27, 2008. <br />Susie Morris, Planning and Zoning Manager, reviewed the Committee's <br />scheduled meeting dates beginning April 1, 2008 through May 22, 2008 from 6 <br />to 8 p.m. She said the final meeting with elected officials is scheduled for <br />May 29, 2008 and asked to have the committee members appointed as soon as <br />possible. <br />There was a brief discussion related to the list of potential committee <br />members and open meetings requirements.
