March 24, 2008 (Regular Meeting) Page 753 WHEREAS, the 2008 Meeting Schedule established the meeting dates for work sessions, regular meetings, conferences, annual retreat, etc. WHEREAS, the 2008 Meeting Schedule set County Assembly Day as May 21, 2008; and WHEREAS, due to a scheduling conflict, the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners has rescheduled its annual County Assembly Day to June 10, 2008; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, does hereby amend its 2008 Meeting Schedule and sets County Assembly Day as June 10, 2008 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Last year, a committee comprised of area local government representatives and several organizations engaged in an effort to enhance the event and maximize the positive impact of the race to ensure its continuation at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The County contributed $20,000.00 in support the last two fiscal years and is being requested to fund the same amount this year. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS AMOONT: $20,000.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Transfer Between Departments/Funds PURPOSE OF REQUEST: This budget amendment transfers funds from Contingency to JHE Production Group, Inc., a local organizing committee, as a committee fee for participation in the planned events showcasing the positive impact of the All-Star Challenge and to ensure that it remains at Lowe s' Motor Speedway and Cabarrus County. Those improvements were completed and accepted by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and the right-of-way related to them must be transferred to NCDOT for maintenance. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and unanimously carried, the Board approved the right-of-way transfer of property off Pitts School road (Tax Map No. 5508-93-0897) and authorized the County Manager and County Attorney to execute the required documents for transfer on behalf of Cabarrus County. (F-7) Cabarrus Soil 6 Water Conservation District - Budget Amendment - (Appropriation of Grant Funds - $35,000.00) UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: Decrease Revised Budget $20,000.00 $396,227.00 $20,000.00 BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST
