Current <br />Planning services include <br />administering, processing <br />rezoning request, <br />conditional use permits and <br />variance requests, <br />coordinating subdivision and <br />rezoning reviews, processing <br />final plat applications and <br />initiating and preparing <br />ordinance amendments. Long <br />range planning services <br />include creating and <br />updating long range planning <br />documents, performing <br />population estimates for <br />Cabarrus County and <br />analyzing growth patterns in <br />Cabarrus County. <br />Elma C. Lomax Farm <br />This program <br />X <br />X <br />X <br />Incubator farm located at <br />was funded <br />Atando Road Park which <br />and approved <br />provides farming space for <br />for a two <br />rent for local farmers to <br />year period <br />learn the trade of farming <br />ended June <br />through the support of <br />30, 2013. They are <br />charged with performing <br />research, educating the <br />community, developing <br />strategies and making policy <br />recommendations that will <br />encourage the development of <br />a robust, sustainable local <br />food economy and a healthier <br />population. The County <br />provides $7,500 in funds to <br />support this council. Staff <br />time is also utilized for <br />this council. <br />Youth Council <br />N/A <br />X <br />The purpose of this council <br />is to provide teens in the <br />community an opportunity to <br />be active citizens. Through <br />experiences and education, <br />youth will be empowered in <br />the community. The Youth <br />Council will expose teens to <br />county government, allow <br />teens an opportunity to <br />discuss issues, and interact <br />
