(D) INFORMAL PUBLIC COb&MNTS Chairman Poole opened the meeting for Informal Public Comments at 7:03 p.m. She stated each speaker would be limited to three minutes. Price Crutchfield, resident of 592 Love Street in Concord, expressed concern over the purchase of Bibles for the courthouse. He also expressed dissatisfaction with members of police departments throughout the country. John Stanley, resident of 1401 Tygress Drive in Kannapolis, spoke to the Board about the upcoming 50 Anniversary Vietnam War Commemoration. He urged Board members and the public to support renaming Northwest Cabarrus Park to the Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Park. He requested the renaming dedication be held on November 13, 2014 to kick off the program. He also provided handouts to the Board regarding the 50 Anniversary Vietnam war Commemoration. Ann Benfield, resident of 563 Marigold Drive in Kannapolis, thanked the Board for approving the transportation grants. She also spoke on brain development in children and on the importance of investing in early childhood development. Brittany Truesdale, resident of 21189 Biles Road in Albemarle, expressed dissatisfaction regarding the livestock stalls area of the Fair. He passed out information regarding the Dixie Classic Fair as an example of opportunities including tractor pulls. Angela Beaver, resident of 3539 Chelwood Drive in Concord and parent volunteer at Northwest Cabarrus High School, spoke in regards to the condition of the track field at Northwest Cabarrus High School. She distributed pictures of issues at the track and urged the Board's support for funding the project. Emma Hand, Northwest Cabarrus High School, student, stated the track at Northwest Cabarrus High School is used by a variety of people, is in disrepair and urged the Board's support for updating the facility. Maddie Lowe, Northwest Cabarrus High School student, expressed concern regarding the safety of the track at Northwest Cabarrus High School and urged the Board's support for updating the facility. Bobby McGee, resident of 9625 Bethel Church Road in Midland and President of the Central Cabarrus Athletic Booster Club, spoke in regards to the Central Cabarrus High School Turf project. He stated the project will benefit the community as well as the school and urged the Board's support for the project. With there being no one else to address the Board, Chairman Poole closed that portion of the meeting. (E) OLD BUSINESS (E -1) Human Services - NC FAST Update Ben Rose, Human Services Director and Trish Baker, Economic Services Program Administrator, presented an update on the implementation of the NC FAST (North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology) system.
