Appraisal for conservation easement on Dan Barrier farmland is <br />under federal review. The federal cooperative agreement for <br />conservation easement is due to close on March 31, 2016. The <br />deadline for the state contract on this conservation easement <br />has been extended to June 30, 3016. <br />(4 -F) Quarterly Management Meeting in July <br />The regularly scheduled meeting falls on July 7. The main topic <br />of discussion is conservation planning in concert with county <br />and municipal leaders and staff. <br />(5) Unfinished Business <br />(5 -A) Partners for Green Growth Pilot Project Grant <br />Dennis gave an update on efforts to mobile stakeholders <br />representing all local jurisdictions to submit a pre - application <br />(due July 31) for a $10,000 Partners for Green Growth Pilot <br />Project to the North Carolina wildlife Resources Commission. A <br />budget is being developed that included a $10,000 match of <br />mostly in -kind contributions from county, district and municipal <br />staff. Resolutions being adopted by local governing bodies <br />includes participation in this grant. Grant would be used to <br />hire a consultant to provide groundwork and guidance in support <br />of incorporating green growth tools in local land use plans and <br />zoning ordinances. <br />(6) New Business <br />(6 -A) Applications /Contracts /Requests for Payments — Conservation <br />Cost -Share Programs <br />(6- A.i)Community Conservation Assistance Program <br />Application; Cabarrus County; #13- 2016 -501; Stormwater Wetland <br />Dennis explained that the county is open to a rain garden as a <br />component of the landscape plan for the building where the <br />district office is located. This location provides an excelling <br />opportunity for a demonstration of a versatile best management <br />practice. <br />UPON MOTION of Jeff Goforth, seconded by Ned Hudson and <br />unanimously carried, the board approved the application by <br />Cabarrus County for a backyard rain garden. <br />
