(5 -C) Application /Contracts /Requests for Payments - Conservation <br />Cost -Share Programs <br />NC Agriculture Cost Share Program Applications /Contracts: <br />- Harvey Baker, 13- 13- 06 -16, Cropland Conversion to Trees 3.2 <br />acres, $299.00, CS <br />(5 -D) Conservation Agreements <br />- Harvey Baker <br />6) Unfinished Business <br />(6 -A) FY2014 Budget Update <br />Vicky Porter and Dennis Testerman gave an update on the FY2014 <br />budget. They presented the district budget earlier in the day to <br />county finance and management staff. The discussion focused on <br />funding for successful conservation education and farmland <br />preservation efforts. There was a discussion among the board and <br />staff regarding budget issues. <br />(7) New Business <br />(7 -A) Soil and Water Conservation Commission Report /Technical <br />Assistance Survey <br />Vicky Porter gave a report on the Commission and reviewed the <br />Technical Assistance Survey that was recently emailed to all districts <br />with board members and staff. <br />(7 -B) 2013 Stewardship Week Proclamation Assignments and Plans <br />The board was given a list of municipal meeting dates to attend <br />in order to present the Stewardship Week proclamations. Several board <br />members confirmed dates they would attend. <br />(7 -C) Request to NCASWCD Executive Committee Concerning Funding for <br />State and Reoional Envirothon Events <br />Dennis Testerman attended a meeting of the Envirothon Development <br />Committee and stated the Committee is trying to build up an endowment. <br />The Development Committee would like to go to the state executive <br />committee and ask them for guidance on funding for the regional and <br />state Envirothon. <br />UPON MOTION of Ned Hudson, seconded by Vicky Porter and <br />unanimously carried, the board voted to ask the NCASWCD Executive <br />Committee to study funding for the state Envirothon and provide <br />guidance to each of the areas on how to go about raising money so the <br />money goes into the state association budget. <br />
